REFUND POLICY :Deposits and payments are non refundable.  Students may reschedule another class date if they are unable to attend the original class. Please call as soon as possible if you or your child will not be able to attend any class.


STANDARD OF BEHAVIOR: Students are expected to arrive on time and maintain a courteous and respectful attitude.  Cheating will not be tolerated.  Any student caught cheating will be asked to leave.  Cell phones are not permitted to be on during class room or driving time.  Any cell phone usage during this time will result in the student’s removal from the class without a refund.


DISABLED STUDENTS: Students with hearing, speech or learning disabilities should notify Breaux's Driving School prior to enrolling and will be eligible for alternative teaching and testing techniques.


GRIEVANCE POLICY: We will strive to settle any issues.  Any grievance not resolved by the school may be forwarded to the Department of Public Safety Corrections, Office of Motor Vehicles, Attention: CDL and Commercial Driving Schools Unit, P.O. Box 64886 Baton Rouge, LA 70896


ABSENCE: If any necessary absence occurs during the classroom portion of instruction contact the office to work out when the class time can be made up for an additional fee of $100 a day.  If a student misses or cancels a scheduled driving session without 24 hour prior notice a fee of $25.00 will be charged to cover the instructor’s costs.  No certificate will be awarded until the course requirements are met.


DISCLAIMERS: Completion of any course at Breaux's Driving School does not guarantee that a driver’s license will be awarded to a student nor will this course count for any school credit.  Students may qualify for a discount on auto insurance premiums, contact your agent for details.


ADDITIONAL DRIVING OPPORTUNITY: Students may opt for additional behind the wheel driving at a additional cost. We work with students from all over the world and even those who have a hard time with test taking. We have been very successful in the teaching method we use in order to help those who are not good at taking test or maybe slow learner.


EXPLANATION OF CLASSES: Hours of operation vary based on seasons.  Students will be given a lunch period.  Lunches can be brought by students, ordered from a local restaurant or we will make arrangements.  The classroom portion of instruction is 30 hours over 4 days and includes lectures on traffic laws and regulations, signs, traffic lights and markings, correct and safe driving procedures, emergencies, driving hazards including weather, alcohol and drug abuse, motorcycle safety, interstate driving and driving offenses.  A test will be administered the last day that requires a passing score at least 80%. After the classroom time, the students will be trained in a dual-brake training vehicle.  Students are scheduled in four two-hour blocks on different days and may be picked up by the instructor at their home, school or our office. Our instructor will make arrangements with parents.  Students must ensure that they are at the agreed pickup location at the appointed time.  No student will be given a certificate before meeting these requirements.  Before a student begins the driving portion, a parent or guardian must sign the Commercial School Instruction Permit.


EXPLANATION OF BTW:  The eight hour behind the wheel course shall be completed within 120 days of completion of the 30 hour /6 hour classroom course.
 

CLASS/DRIVING CANCELLATION: Classes or driving sessions will be cancelled in the event of extremely inclement weather (i.e. hurricane, tornado,flooding, etc…) which may put our students and staff in danger.  Breaux's Driving Schools voice mail will reflect any class cancellations that may occur and we will contact the students regarding rescheduling.


Students are expected to behave in a classroom manner with courtesy and respect to the instructor and other students.  Use of cell phones and I-Pods are not allowed during class.  My child has my permission to attend the 30 Hour Class and to Participate in the 8 Hour driving session under the supervision of the certified instructor.


PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES: As a parent, you are the most appropriate person in determining your teen’s readiness to begin the driver education process.  This is a state required 38 hour education course.  Once the teen has passed the course, it will be your responsibility to supervise your teen in 50 hours of driving time with 15 of that being at night.
